STORY

Challenge

The project brought together a large volume of artwork created by concept artists working across Los Angeles and Montreal for a sci-fi the short movie PLUG. The challenge was to organise and edit the material into a book that felt cohesive, visually striking and true to the highly detailed world of PLUG.

The aim was to make the publication feel like an extension of the film itself, moving between characters, environments, creatures and moments to reveal the world gradually and create a sense of narrative beyond the individual images.

My role

I led the book design and art direction, working closely with Steambot Studio and the creative team to organise the artwork, photography and supporting material.

Editorial structure, page layouts, typography and visual language were developed alongside the coordination of assets and feedback between the teams in Los Angeles and Montreal.

Outcome

An 80-page art book presenting the visual development of PLUG and the work of the concept artists behind it.

The final publication brought together concept art, character and environment design, photography and behind-the-scenes material into a cohesive editorial piece designed to celebrate the creative process behind the film.
